The Sandel SG102 Attitude Heading Reference System (AHRS) is an affordable solid-state upgrade for the KCS55A Compass System.The SG102 offers superior technology, unsurpassed reliability, and the option of multiple heading formats. The evolutionary design of the SG102 utilizes the latest in MEMS Sensory Technology, eliminating the use of wearable parts, offering 10 times the reliability of older mechanical units. Moreover, the SG102 offers an interface equipped with XYZ, ARINC 429, and RS-232 heading formats, and is plug compatible with the KG102A (with minimal modification).
·Remove KG102A gyro and gyro mount.
·Install SG102 in accordance with Sandel SG102 installation manual in space made available by KG102A removal.
·Remove KMT112. Install MT102 in same location in accordance with Sandel SG102 installation manual.
·Replace existing KMT112 connector with Sandel supplied connector. In most cases, existing wiring can be reused.
·Relocate the existing KG102A power wire to circuit breaker from the switched Avionics buss to the Battery buss.
·Connect existing KG102A Winchester connector directly into the SG102.
·Follow procedure precisely in the SG102 Installation / Calibration software procedure that is available on the website.http://WWW.Sandel.com/SG102_sup_sb.php
·The KA51 slaving accessory will be maintained as per the Sandel SG102 Installation Manual.
·Transition from spinning mass gyro to digital ARHS is complete.
