TGH Aviation provides overhaul and exchange services for all types of Vacuum Attitude Indicators also known as Artificial Horizons and as Attitude Gyroscopes. TGH services both Autopilot and Non-Autopilot versions of these gyroscopes. TGH supports all of the major Vacuum Attitude Indicator/ Gyroscope manufacturers including:
- R. C. Allen Vacuum Attitude Indicators
- Sigma-Tek Vacuum Attitude Indicators
- EDO-Aire Vacuum Attitude Indicators
- AIM Vacuum Attitude Indicators
- S-TEC Vacuum Attitude Indicators
- Castleberry Vacuum Attitude Indicators, and others.
All Vacuum Attitude Gyroscopes are zero-time overhauled in accordance with the manufacturer’s FAA approved technical data. All units are provided with FAA Form 8130 certification.
Artificial Horizon overhaul service includes complete disassembly, cleaning and inspection of all component parts. TGH will contact you and advise you of the condition of your Vacuum Attitude Indicator and the exact costs of repair immediately after the initial inspection of the indicator. Also included is the replacement of all standard overhaul parts as defined in the maintenance data. In the event that your unit requires more than standard overhaul parts TGH will contact you and advise you before incurring additional expenses. Standard overhaul of gyroscopes includes replacement of all rotor and gimbal bearings with FAA certified, factory new parts. All rotor and gimbal assemblies are dynamically and statically rebalanced to within one micron tolerances. The Vacuum Attitude Gyro is then reassembled and calibrated in accordance with the manufacturer’s FAA approved maintenance data. Final testing of the Artificial Horizon is accomplished utilizing test equipment that is certified to National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) specifications.
TGH provides a one year limited warranty on all Vacuum Attitude Indicator
overhauls.
