Army Awards TGH Aviation Contract Extension

TGH Aviation, located at the Auburn Airport, received notice this week that the United States Army would be modifying and adding to their previously awarded contract which required the company to overhaul gyroscopes for the Army’s Black Hawk helicopter.

TGH has been providing overhaul services for model CN-1314 gyroscopes for the Army under a sub-contract issued by ARINC Engineering Services of Dayton, Ohio. ARINC performs contract management and logistical support under their standing Rapid Response contract with the Army.

This past September TGH was tasked, by the Army, with accomplishing the overhaul of 300 gyroscopes to be delivered at a rate of 20-units per month over a 15-month period. The Army has notified TGH that the number of gyroscopes would now be increased to 500 units and delivery would be accelerated to 40 units per month. Additionally the Army has added 200 units of a second type of gyroscope to the contract. The contract now includes model CN-811 type gyroscopes which are utilized on the Army’s CH47 Chinook helicopter, increasing the repair effort to a total number of 700 gyroscopes and raising the value of the contract over two million dollars.

TGH President Richard T. Anderson stated the following, “The award of this contract extension is an affirmation by the Army of the extraordinary service and quality of workmanship provided by the employees of TGH. We are fortunate to have such a dedicated staff.” Anderson went on to say that this award would create additional employment opportunities for Auburn residents.

The Gyro House (TGH Aviation) Awarded Contract to Overhaul Fuel Flow Transmitters for U.S. Navy

AUBURN, Calif. – The Gyro House (TGH Aviation), a provider of gyroscopes, navigational flight instruments, engine monitoring instruments and aviation GPS systems, has announced the award of a contract with the United States Navy. The contract calls for TGH to provide overhaul services on a quantity of Fuel Flow Transmitters that are utilized on the Navy’s P3 Orion aircraft.

Fuel flow transmitters monitor the rate of fuel consumption by the individual aircraft engines and provide the aircraft’s pilot with critical information concerning the operation of the aircraft.

“The award of this contract is especially welcome,” said TGH Aviation’s President, Richard T. Anderson, “as the firm was required to undergo an extensive pre-award qualification inspection by the Navy.” Qualification Inspections are conducted by Department of Defense personnel prior to major contract awards in order to confirm that a successful bidder meets the military’s stringent quality requirements and that the firm is capable of performing the work that is contracted for.
